Meet the Owner
I grew up in Bloomington, MN, attended the University of Minnesota, College of Biological Sciences, and graduated with a B.S. in biology.
Having always wanted to live "with the woods out my back door", I moved to this 10-acre location in 1997. Before building and opening AnimaLodge Boarding Kennel in 2006, I enjoyed working with animals--both domestic and wildlife--in a variety of settings. My past experience has included working in a boarding kennel, working for bird breeders, doing research in the veterinary medical field, and working at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in St. Paul for 14 years as a wildlife vet tech.
Over the years my pets have come in all shapes and sizes; I have owned dogs, cats, horses, llamas, goats, rabbits, parrots and reptiles.
I've been an active volunteer at the Humane Society of Burnett County since 2003, and have been on HSBC's board of directors since 2005.
Right now I couldn't ask for a better job--not only can I walk to work, but I get to play with dogs all day too!
